Haks Hamzaoğlu Kimya Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş was founded in 1981 with the aim of becoming the Turkish distributor for leading global brands within the chemical, medical and pharmaceutical industries.

The company’s first agency and distributorship contract was with one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical firms, Johnson & Johnson. This association, which continued for nearly 10 years, enabled Haks to make significant advances towards achieving a global perspective and reaching world standards. As a result, the company undertook joint projects in Turkey and in neighbouring countries with leading world brands such as Colgate-Palmolive, Twinings Teas, Sandoz Nutrition, Novartis Nutrition, Britvic Soft Drinks, Storck, Sara Lee, Harvey Scruton, Thornton & Ross and Gifrer.

Haks has worked for many years mainly within the pharmaceutical industry but also in the food and cosmetic sectors. It is an organization that makes a point of adhering to global standards within its sector and aims for sustainable success.

For Haks the basic principles of consumer satisfaction and product quality are of the utmost importance which is why extreme care is taken to ensure that the companies with which it works are also leaders in their field. As a result of good observation of the changing world and the dynamics within Turkey, Haks made an important investment in 2010. It purchased the name and manufacturing rights of the world-famous OTC baby brand Nurse Harvey’s from Harvey Scruton, a company with which it had been in partnership for many years. Moving the manufacturing base of the English brand, which had been recognized and respected round the world for 60 years, to Turkey and exporting the products to neighbouring countries brought an immense sense of pride to Haks

The main objective for Haks is to concentrate on export projects and create a leading global brand in Turkey’s health sector.

The fundamental areas of activity, namely sales, marketing and distribution, continue to be conducted with the same zest and enthusiasm as in the early days. With a staff base that is spread throughout Turkey, Haks continues its work, conscious of the fact that the most important part of business is sales and marketing.

Haks is involved in a number of different social responsibility projects in the areas of health and education and, in particular, it was responsible for establishing a primary school in the name of Orhan Sinan Hamzaoğlu, one of the founders of Haks.
